EXXON DELAWARE VALLEY Built in 1967, by Jacksonville Shipyard of Jacksonville, Florida (hull #648) as the Esso Delaware Valley for Esso Shipping of Wilmington, Delaware. In 1972, Esso Shipping became Exxon Shipping of Wilmington, Delaware where the tug was renamed as the Exxon Delaware Valley. However, Exxon later renamed the tug as the Exxon San Jacinto. In 1988, Exxon then merged with Mobil to form SeaRiver Maritime of Houston, Texas. Where the tug was renamed as the S/R San Jacinto. When Sea River Maritime liquidated their assets the tug was acquired by McAllister Towing and Transportation of New York, New York where she was renamed as the Roderick McAllister. She is powered by two Caterpillar 12-D398 Turbo diesel engines with Lufkin reduction gears at a ratio of 7.14:1 for a rated 1,800 horsepower. She is a twin screw tug with kort nozzles. Her capacities are 26,670 gallons of fuel oil, 628 gallons of lube oil and 3,480 gallons of potable water. The tug is outfitted with two fire monitors rated at 1,500 Gallons Per Minute.
