in 1993 as "S/R Golden State", sold in 1998 as "Ocean Venture" and sold in 2003 to Moran as "Paul T. Moran".

S/R GOLDEN STATE
Built in 1975, by Equitable Equipment of Madisonville, Louisiana (hull #1652) as the Eliska Theriot for Theriot Offshore of Golden Meadow, Louisiana.
In January of 1984, she was later sold where she was renamed as the Eliska.
In December of 1988, the tug was acquired by Exxon Shipping of Wilmington, Delaware where she was renamed as the Exxon Golden State.
In 1993, Exxon merged with Mobil, to create SeaRiver Maritime where she was renamed as the S/R Golden State.
In 1998, Sea River Maritime was dissolved and the tug was acquired by the American Steamship Company where she was renamed as the Ocean Venture.
In 1998, American Steamship outfitted the tug Bludworth coupler system and mated her with a large bulk barge.
The Tug and the barge work in the Gulf of Mexico and even made two trips to Russia with grain
In 2003, she was acquired by the Moran Towing Corporation of Greenwich, Connecticut where she was renamed as the Paul T. Moran.
