11. Sept. 1893 :
In Paris by representatives the Deutsch-Amerikanischen Petroleum Gesellschaft Bremen (DAPG)
and the Società Italo Americano del Petrolio Venezia (SIAP) is seized the resolution to create
for Switzerland a society to the sales from petroleum to.

1. April 1894 :
The Petroleum Import Cie. (PICO), the predesesor of Esso Switzerland GmbH, is created in Basel
and takes over the company of Carl Stumm. Their owner becomes first director the PICO. The portions
of the founder companies of the capital amount to 60% (DAPG) and/or. 40% (SIAP). Thus the PICO
belonged to the Standard Oil Co of  New Jersey (SOC) indirectly already at that time. PICO begins
with 7 coworkers and 6 boards of directors. The share capital amounts to Fr. 300'000. -

1911 :
The PICO moves to Zurich. New seat in the inhabitant of Zürcherhof at the Sonnenquai,
today Limmatquai.

1920 :
The Standard Oil Co (New Jersey) takes over 60% of the share capital of the PICO, and takes
direct control.

1927:
Introduction of "STANDARD MOTOR OIL"

1934:
Introduction of the mark "ESSOLUBE". Start of sale of liquid gas (butane) under the
name PRIMA GAS.

1949 :
Renamed to ESSO Standard (Switzerland).

2001 :
Integration of the business activities of Mobil Oil (Switzerland) into Esso Switzerland GmbH.
