Build in 1921 as "Cerro Azul", by the Sun Shipbuilding Co. at Chester, she became in 1940 "Esso Providence".
The "Esso Providence" took a direct bomb hit, was on fire and narrowly missed a magzine explosion.
She was sold in 1954 as "Lisbeth". Scrapped in Briton Ferry, 16.06.1954.

Two launchings took place at the yard of the Sun Shipbuilding Company during February. On the 19th was launched the tanker Cerro-Ebano, 12,500 deaweight tons, and on the 26th the Cerro-Azul, 12,500 tons, both for the Pan-American Petroleum and
Transportation Company.

The tanker Cerro-Azul, delivered to Pan-American Petroleum recently, attained a sea speed of 12 3/4 knots on a full loaded draft of 27 feet, a performance that ranks her as one of the highest-speed tankers ever built in America. The keels of two tankers for the Sun Oil Company, hulls 46 and 47, were laid in April.
