Esso Chittagong (2) - (1969-1981)
Collision Esso Chittagon & Thomaseveret
The "Esso Chittagong (II)"and the "Thomaseverett"came into colission  in the Gulf of Siam, in 1972.
There where no injuries.

Freighter Thomaseverett was outbound from Bangkok. Esso Chittagong was in-bound loaded with avgas, almost dead in the water waiting for pilot. Everett was intially on a course of 150 which would have set up an easy starboard to starboard passing. But at 2308 Everett altered to 180 even tho she was aware of Chittagong and her intentions. At 2312 Everett altered further stbd to 190. This aimed her directly at Chittagong. At about the same time, Chittagong tired to get out of the way by going slow ahead and hard starboard. which s They were set up for a starboard to starboard passage, but Thomaseverett altered to starboard, headed almost directly at Chittagong. At about the same time,Chittagong attempts to get underway with the rudder hard starboard. But now (maybe 2313) the Everett goes port. Starboard bow of Thomaseverett hit Chittagong port side forward, at a fine angle as Chittagong had come around to 040.
