Vistula - (1935 -1945)

MS "Vistula", built in 1920, in her first years, in service for the Deutsch Amerikanischer Petroleum GmbH, Hamburg.
During her war service as an Esso Tanker MS "Vistula" had many harrowing epieriences but seemed to bear a charmed life.
She came through and was acquired by the navy on February 14, 1945 and became USS "Belusan".
During a refeuling at sea operation USS "Bennington" gets a washing down as seamen come up out of the salty spume.
