Tug built as "S.O. Co. No. 17" in 1907, built by Skinner Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co., Baltimore, Md.
100' x 23' x 12'  175 gross tons. 16,17,18,19 were called the 'battleship tugs'.
These tugs served for 39 years when sold to Standard Oil New Jersey 29 jan 1946.
Then became Esso 1,2,3,4. this happened when socony decided to discontinue lighterage service in NY harbor.
