"Esso New Orleans (1)" was aquired by the US Navy in may 1941 and renamed USS "Chenango" (AO 31). Conversion to an
escortcarrier (CVE 28) completed in september 1942. Scrapped Bilbao august 1962.
Sisterships are USS "Cimarron" and the SS "Seakay" (later the USS "Santee").
