The following artcle was written in the New York Times, January 25, 1903, Sunday :

Standard Oil Tank Ship Launched.

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 24. - The tank steamship Col. E. L. Drake, built at the Cramps' shipyard for the Standard
Oil Company, - was launched to-day. Mrs. Charles E. Bushnell, wife of the Treasurer of the oil company,
christened the vessel.
The Drake is equipped with a single screw and triple expansion engines, and will speed at thirteen knots. She
has a capacity of 1,500,000 gallons of bulk oil. She will use oil as fuel.
