SS TEJON
LOA 438 ' 5 ", Beam 57 ', Depth 33', 10,687 DWT, 80,477 bbls.
Triple expansion engine 48" stroke.
Commissioned 17 May 1920, at Moore Shipbuilding Corporation, Oakland, California, where she was built as City of Reno.
Bought by General Petroleum Company in 1923 and acquired by Socony in 1926.
Tejon served General Petroleum Company throughout her career, with no evidence to show that she ever left the west coast.
During WWII she was requisitioned by WSA for war service. In January 1944, as a result of a four-old-tankers-for-two-new barter, title to Tejon passed to the US government.
