5 cylinder Fiat Titan N410 10,000BHP. Vessels were unique in having double bottom tanks beneath centre tanks. Equipped with 5 rotary pumps and 6 deepwell pumps. March 1984 vessel rescued entire crew of PELAGOS which had caught fire and stranded on Helen Reef in Pacific. When all had been rescued, someone noticed a figure waving on northern part of reef. Investigation revealed 14 Taiwanese fishermen who had been shipwrecked 28 days earlier. Survived by drinking rain water and sea birds. Over 40 persons were rescued.
