Built 1973 at Sasebo, Japan, fitted with double bottom tanks throughout. Powered by a General Electric turbine developing
36,000 HP, she was delivered to Mobil Shipping and Transportation Company in October 1973. In 1983 she was sold to
Arabian International Maritime Company, renamed YANBU STAR. She became AL BILAD in 1984.
As an economy measure the engine was detuned to 24,000HP when delivered to Brilliant Transport Company, in January 1985.
It was retuned to 36,000 HP in 1990. The vessel - an enlarged version of the "P" class ships -transferred ownership to Mobil
Shipping and Transportation Company in 1987.
She suffered over-pressurisation in November 1989 while discharging at Fawley, near Southampton, England.
Her engine-room and pump-room were flooded by foam and water. The vessel was towed
by the tug WOTAN to Lisnave, Portugal, where repairs were effected. She resumed service in April 1990.
Still trading in May 1991.
