Built 1976 as MOBIL HAWK at Sasebo, Japan, for Mobil Shipping and Transportation Company. The vessel is powered
by twin Pielstick 12VPC4 medium speed engines each developing 18,000 HP through clutches and reduction gearing
to drive a single shaft. She was transferred to Arabian International Maritime Company Limited in 1985 and renamed
AL SAQR AL ARABI.
She was involved in a collision with the container ship RALEIGH BAY at Singapore in April 1988. The damage was
minimal. She was transferred back to Mobil Shipping and Transportation Company in May 1991.
