Mobil Comet (2) - (1963-1981)
 
 The second "Mobil Comet" was build in 1963. Sold in 1981 as "Montana".
Scrapped in 1983 at Kaoshiung.

Mobil Comet
LOA 887' 10", Beam 127' 7”, Draught 48' 7 3/8", 1101 ,297 SDWT
Built 1963 by Sasebo Shipyard, Sasebo, Japan, for Brilliant Transportation Company, powered by a General Electric steam turbine developing 28,000 HP. She was the sister ship to MOBIL ASTRAL and MOBIL DAYLIGHT.
Originally built with 95,000 SDWT, MOBIL COMET was later remeasured to 101,297 SDWT.
Although all three vessels were sister ships, MOBIL COMET was always the fastest and on one occasion averaged over 19 knots on a ballast passage from Singapore to the Arabian Gulf. She Was laid up at Eleusis, Greece, from April 1977 to May 1979. MOBIL COMET was sold to Colorado Tanker Company on 15 April 1981 and renamed MONTANA. Scrapped in 1983.
