Mobile Floating Storage Tanker: Built in 1918 as SS Montrolite, at American Shipbuilding Co., Seattle, WA.
Chartered by Standard Oil of California, 22 April 1942
Transferred to the Soviet Union under terms of the Lend-Lease program, 14 October 1942, named SS Valerian Kuybyshev
Returned to the War Shipping Administration, 13 December 1944, at Pearl Harbor, T.H.
Acquired by the Navy from WSA under bareboat charter, 13 December 1944
Commissioned, USS Marmora, 13 December 1944, at Pearl Harbor, T. H., LT. Grant R. Olsen, USNR, in command
Decommissioned, 11 February 1946, at Mobile, AL., delivered to War Shipping Administration, renamed SS J. S. Fitzsimmons
Final Disposition, sold for scrapping to Pinto Island Metals Co., 1 February 1947.
