Additional Information :

Ile de la Cité. Ninth in a long series of similar standard crude tankers,  the 233,000-ton dwt Ile de la Cité
marked the introduction of high-tensile steel to a wider extent, with a corresponding gain in deadweight
capacity. The ship, which is well over 1.000 ft long (332 m), is propelled at 16 knots by a Stal-Laval
steam turbine of "AP" type, developing 32450 shp and turning the propeller at 86 rev/min. Steam is
supplied by Babcock & Wilcox type boilers, built at Gotaverken.
