17/1 1980: Sank off the coast of Senegal in a pos. 12.38 N, 18.34 W during a voyage from Mena al Ahmadi.
At the time a certain amount of mystery surrounded her loss and it is also reported that under the name
"LEMA" she had called at Durban during Dec. 1979 and discharged the cargo of oil that she had
loaded at Mena al Ahmadi.

Vessel was reported to be listing heavily and sinking on the 17-1-80 off the coast of Senegal and
the crew rescued by the VLCC ss BRITISH TRIDENT. It is beleived the ship was scuttled by her crew
to claim a false insurance scam for the ships hull and cargo of crude oil for the vessels owners. The large
amount of crude oil she was carrying was believed at the time to have been pumped ashore at South
Africa before the ship sailed and she was then later scuttled.
