Built 1975 by Sumitomo Shipbuilding and Machinery Company, Uraga Shipyard, Yokosuka, Japan. The vessel is owned
by Mobil Shipping and Transportation Company and managed by Atlas Maritime Company S.A.
She was originally powered by a steam turbine but re-engined with twin Pielstick diesel engines. Launched originally as
Mobil Supplier (sister ship to the then Mobil Mariner), she never actually sailed under that name. She was delivered as
Al Haramain and was renamed Saudi Splendour in 1987.
In that year, she was attacked by a gunboat in the Arabian Gulf causing a small fire which was extinguished by the crew.
She suffered a collision with MS Combi Trader, approximately 500 miles off the Canary Islands in May 1990 but was
able to continue her voyage. Scrapped at China 03.2000.
