Built February 1944 by Sun Shipbuilding Company, Chester, Pennsylvania,
as "South Mountain" # 378, for The Texas Company, Wilmington, Del..
1950 - MISSISSIPPI, s/o
1959 - TEXACO MISSISSIPPI, s/o
1964 at the age of 20 years the aging tanker was withdrawn from service and sent to the Newport News
Shipbuilding & Drydock Company drydock in Newport News, Virginia for rebuilding. A new and much larger
bow and forebody had been built there and it was welded to the original T2-SA-A1 stern just ahead of the
engineroom bulkhead.

1990 - STAR MISSISSIPPI, s/o
1992 - STAR MIST, Eastern Overseas, Inc.
Broken up at Alang 1992 by Baldev Shipbreakers,
arrived 22.11.1992, work began 27.12.1992.
