Keel laid 09-01-1943. Launched 09-05-1943. Completed 30-07-1943. Gr. 10448 t., Net. 6423 t., Dw. 16613 t. L.o.a. 159,57 m., Br. 20,78 m., Dr. 8,99 m. Engine: 2 steam turbines, manufactured by General Electric Company, Lynn, Massachussetts. 10000 B.h.p., 7356 kW. Speed 15 knots. 26 tanks.

KENNEBAGO-1943 Converted for Naval service at Matson Navigation Co., San Francisco, CA.
AO-81 KENNEBAGO-1943 Commissioned USS Kennebago (AO-81), 4 December.
AO-81 KENNEBAGO-1946 Decommissioned, 19 July, at Boston, MA., Transferred to the Maritime Commission, 24 May, for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet.
AO-81 KENNEBAGO-1949 Reacquired by the Navy, 1 October 1949, and assigned to the Military Sea Transportation Service (MSTS).
T-AO-81 KENNEBAGO-1950 Placed in service as USNS Kennebago (T-AO-81), September.
T-AO-81 KENNEBAGO-1957 Placed out of service, 27 November 1957, at Beaumont, TX. Transferred to MARAD for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, Beaumont, TX.
T-AO-81 KENNEBAGO-1958 Reacquired and placed in service by MSTS, 23 May.
T-AO-81 KENNEBAGO-1959 Placed out of service, 22 May, at New York, N.Y. Transferred to MARAD, 23 June, for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, James River, Fort Eustis, VA.
KENNEBAGO-1966 Acquired by the US Army, 20 May 1966, converted to a Mobile Army Emergency Power Plant and assigned to South Vietnam service.
