as "Chisholm Trail" # 2403, for U.M.S.C.
1947 - British Tanker Co., Ltd., London, BR
1955 - MONTSOREAU,Soc. Maritime des Pétroles BP, Le Havre, FR
Damaged in collision with French s/t ISIDORA, 6 Dec 1961, 12 miles north of Cape Spartel,
voyage La Skhirra - Dunkerque, crude oil, beached next day, refloated prev. 19 Dec, sold for scrapping,
Broken up at La Seyne, Feb. 1962, by Soc. de Materiel Naval du Midi, left Port de Bouc 12.02.1962 in tow.
History and notes:
23rd Sep.1947 purchased from U.S. Maritime Comission by British Tanker Co, London. 1955 transferred to
BTC subsidiary Societe Maritime de Petroles BP, Paris renamed MONTSOREAU. 6th Dec.1961 extensively
damaged in collision in fog 12 miles North from Cape Spartel with French tanker ISIDORA while on voyage La
Skhirra, Tunisia to Dunkirk and beached. 19th Dec.1961 refloated and towed to Port de Bouc. Feb.1962
scrapped at La Seyne.
