Royal Oak
T2-SE-A1
August 30th, 1946. Between 9 and 10 a.m. the  “Royal Oak” being towed through the entrance to the west basin drawbridge
by tugs. Her engine is dead, which necessitates the use of three tugs, two at the bow (port and starboard) and one at the stern,
(starboard). Two of the tugs may be seen on the starboard side. The limited clearance is plainly shown. The “Royal Oak” has a
beam of 68 feet.

Keel laid 23-12-1944. Launched 12-04-1945. Completed 24-04-1945. Gr. 10297 t., Net. 6236 t., Dw. 16613 t. L.o.a. 159,57 m., Br. 20,78 m., Dr. 9,31 m. Engine: 2 steam turbines, manufactured by Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company, Pittsburgh. 7240 B.h.p.,5401 kW. Speed 27 knots. 26 Tanks.

Reported Transhuron rebuilt in 1966 by American SB. Co., Lorain, Ohio, mid-body removed and scrapped, replaced with new 57 Feet section by American SB. And 296 Feet cargo section removed from U.S.S. PASSUMPSIC (AO-107) - (Sun, Chester yard #528, completed Apr. 1946).
New dimensions 172.7 / 166.4 x 22.9 m, 11971 grt / 20276 dwt.
Reported Transhuron suffered engine failure and drifted aground 24 Sep. 1974 in position 11.27 N / 73.03 E off Killtan Island, India, 26 Sep., whilst on voyage from Ras Tanura to Subic Bay, with crude oil. Refloated and declared a constructive total loss. Sold to shipbreakers in India. Arrived Bombay 1974 to be broken up.
