Built August 1943 by The Kaiser Company, Swan Island Yard, Portland, Oregon,
as "Sackett's Harbor" # 812, for U.M.S.C.
Broke in two, 1 March 1946, 800 miles SW of Adak, voyage Yokosuka - Balboa, in ballast, forepart sunk by gunfire,
afterpart towed to Adak, 12 March, sold and used as electrical station at Anchorage, re-sold 1956,
rebuilt 1957 with new forward half by Bethlehem Pacific Coast Steel Corp., (SB Div), San Francico,
fitted for carriage of wine in center tanks and other products in wing tanks, 8,521 grt, 505.0' x 68.2',
delivered 09/1957
