Broke in two in heavy weather, 25 Nov 1969, about 10 miles off Taiwan, in 21.28 N - 120.32 E,
voyage Bahrain - Niigata, crude oil, afterpart sank next day.

THE LOAD THAT BROKE THE SHIP.
Aerial picture shows the stern section of the 17,300-ton tanker "Pacocean" which split in half tuesday during a storm south of the island of Formosa in the South~China Sea. One man was drowned and two others were missing from the crew of 37. According to authorities the boat, which was on its way from the Persian Gulf to Japan, was overloadod with 20,000 tons of crude oil.
