10,202 grt, 16,563 dwt. She was scrapped in 1964.

To make matters worse a towing wire wrapped itself around propellor.

LATEST STANVAC OIL TANKER CALLED CANBERRA
Launched by Mrs. C. K. Gamble, wife of a former managing director of the Vacuum Oil Co. Pty. Ltd, in Australia, the latest
tanker of the Standard-Vacuum Oil Company bears the name Stanvac Canberra. The new tanker will have a deadweight
carrying capacity of 16,500 tons, equivalent to 4,655,000 imperial gallpns. The loaded ship displaces 21,500 tons of water
and draws 30 feet of water fully loaded.

STANVAC CANBERRA, NEW TANKER REACHES  PORT.

The new tanker "Stanvac Canberra" arriving in Sydney yesterday on its maiden voyage, carrying 110,800 gallons of car
petrol and 318,000 gallons of aviation spirit for the Vacuum Oil Company. All the spirit was obtained from the Palembang
Refinery, in Sumatra, where the company obtains dollar-free petrol.
