Broken up at Singapore 1962 by Malayan Shipbreakers, Ltd., arrived 16.09.1962, work completed in 02.1963,
sold with unrepaired grounding damage sustained 24 June 1962 east of Zuidwachter Island.

Launch of the "Stanvac Pretoria", June 21th, 1950.

"Stanvac Pretoria" was build in 1950 by Bethlehem Sparrows Point Shipyard Inc.,
Sparrows Point, Md. #4479. 10,201 grt, 16,563 dwt.
Owned by A-C Tankers Co., Inc., Panama, in bare boat charter for Standard Vacuum Co., Ltd.
Damaged by stranding on Zuidvachter Island on 24/6/1962, broken up.
"Stanvac Pretoria", photo taken on the Brisbane River Queensland
in the  mid to late 1940's.
"Stanvac Pretoria" damaged after a collision with the SS "Iberia" of P&O Lines in 1956,
at the Mazagaon Dockyard, Bombay.

Broken up at Kaohsiung 05.09.1972

( The conditions at the time were "flat-calm", not "heavy seas" as given in P&O's history. )

They incorrectly state it happened off Columbia and refer to the Stanvac Pretoria as
a Freighter, whereas it actually occurred in the Indian Ocean off Columbo, Sri-Lanka.
