Commissioned, USS Beagle (IX-112), 20 November 1943, at San Pedro, CA., LT. Robert E. Rew, Jr., USNR, in command
During World War II USS Beagle was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and participated in the following campaign:

Transferred under a General Agency Agreement to Cosmopolitan Shipping Co., 25 March 1948
Sold to Edison Tanker Corp. Inc., New York City, 14 July 1948, renamed SS Edison Skipper
Sold in December 1954, reflagged Liberian, renamed SS George S, later SS Georgios Sideratos, and SS Maria G. L.
