Transferred to the Maritime Commission for lay up in National Defense Reserve Fleet;
Reacquired, August 1948; laid up in the Reserve Fleet;
Placed in service with MSTS as USNS Chestatee (T-AOG-49), March 1952;
Placed out of service, May 1954;
Laid up in the Reserve Fleet;
Placed in service, with MSTS as USNS Chestatee (T-AOG-49), April 1956;
Placed out of service, September 1957 and loaned to the US Air Force;
