1943 - Laid down, as ANDROSCOGGIN, a Maritime Commission type (T1-M-A2) tanker hull, under Maritime Commission contract (MC hull 1521), 15 December 1943.
1944 - ANDROSCOGGIN Acquired by the US Navy from the Maritime Commission, 13 June 1944.
1944 - SHEEPSCOT (AOG-24) Commissioned, 27 June 1944.
1948 - SHEEPSCOT (AOG-24) Struck from the Naval Register, 1 November 1945.
CASUALTY REPORTS.
Reported SHEEPSCOT (AOG-24) ran aground off Iwo Jima and capsized 6 june 1945 in position 24.50 N / 121.20 E.
Hulk scrapped, no further info.
