Built for Imperial Oil Co.,Ltd, by Furness Shipbuilding Co, Ltd, Harverton Hill-on-Tees,England,as ACADIALITE, 256'4"x43'x18'
Renamed IMPERIAL CORNWALL,in 1947. Transfered off lakes, in 1969, sold to Penn Shipping, then to Neal Petrolium,in 1971.
She was renamed GOLDEN SABLE, for the clean fuels trade on Lake Erie, but was found to be unable to carry these cargos,
due to all the years carring crude oil. Sold for scrapping in 1972, but lasted till 1981, somewhere along the St Lawerence seaway.

History
In July 1971, vessel under writ of seizure by crew for back wages of $15,162,14. In second 1971 sale, intended for Lake Erie "clean" trade (gasoline). Tanks were found to be badly deteriorated from long years in crude trade; also boilers were condemned and vessel was laid up at Montreal. Towed out of Montreal on August 12, 1972, by tug R.F. GRANT, to Louisville, P.Q.
